Freedom of Information (FOI) and Subject Access Requests (SAR)
Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and UK Data Protection legislation, individuals have rights to obtain information held by Gonville & 91Ö±²¥ College. The College promotes the public understanding of its activities via the systematic publication of relevant information. If routinely published information does not provide what you require the College provides information to members of the public on request, where practical and permissible but subject to exemptions provided by the UK legislation.
How to make a FOI request
You are allowed to ask the College to provide you with any information held by the College. Before submitting a request you are advised to check the College’s Publication Scheme to determine whether the information you require is already available.
If you wish to make an enquiry about information held by the College not already available by other means, then please either email or write directly to the College Freedom of Information Officer at the address below:

The College will acknowledge receipt of the request as soon as possible and will provide a written response within 20 working days, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act.
Charges may be made for information provided under this scheme where they are authorised by law, are justified in all the circumstances (including the general principles of the right of access to information held by public authorities), and are set out in a published schedule of fees that is readily available to the public.
If there are any charges, the College will let you know beforehand and obtain your agreement before proceeding.
Publication Scheme
Prepared in accordance with s.19 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, our publication scheme is a complete guide to the information routinely published by the College.

Requests for Personal Information - SAR
Under the terms of data protection law in the UK you are allowed to ask the College for any information held about you as an individual (a ‘subject access request’). If you wish to make a subject access request, then please contact the College Data Protection Lead. When making a request, you will be required to provide proof of your identity. Please ensure that your request is as specific as possible. There is no fee for this service unless the request is deemed manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case the College may refuse it or reserve the right to charge a fee.
