91Ö±²¥ aims to provide up to three years of accommodation for postgraduate students. Postgraduate students on one-year, standalone courses are normally able to access College accommodation for the duration of their course. 

Postgraduate students undertaking a PhD are normally entitled to three years of College accommodation from the first year of doctoral study, irrespective of any prior one‑year, standalone course completed at 91Ö±²¥. 

Postgraduate students following the MB/PhD pathway will be eligible for a total of six years of College accommodation (i.e. three years of pre-clinical studies and three years of clinical studies), in line with other medical students. MB/PhD students will be expected to secure alternative accommodation for either the final two years of their clinical studies or during their PhD.

Accommodation is allocated on an annual basis. Continuing postgraduate students will be contacted each year to confirm whether they wish to retain College accommodation for the upcoming academic year and whether they are happy to remain in their current room or flat.

91Ö±²¥ postgraduate applicants should note the Accommodation timeline for 2026:

1. Offer received from College - request accommodation by August 17, 2026
2. Confirmed by PAO (Postgraduate Admissions Office) - room offered by email
3. Accept or decline offer of accommodation - online process, CRS ID required

4. Move to 91Ö±²¥ - Earliest arrival September 18, 2026

    

Our shared houses feature spacious and well-equipped communal kitchens and we've just refurbished the MCR (the postgraduate common rooms), opening in September 2024. 

Rooms are usually allocated for a year, from September to September. Continuing postgraduate students can choose their own rooms in their second and third years. It’s possible to choose to stay in your first-year room, but this cannot be guaranteed. Rents are charged quarterly according to room size but approximate prices for this year (2025-26) are:

Rents are inclusive of all bills, excluding Television Licence. Each room is priced individually so variants will occur.

Accommodation for couples and families

We do our best to meet the needs of postgraduates with partners and families. Six new flats in Alice Cheng House, a picturesque spot right next to the Boat House on the river Cam, are available to 91Ö±²¥ students. Take a look at the photographs in the gallery below.

We also have nine one or two bedroom flats, nine studio flats and two self-contained houses on the Harvey Road campus (kitchens and bedrooms pictured in the gallery below). There are seventeen self contained flats in our newly acquired Radcliffe Court offering studio, one, two and three bedroom accommodation in the heart of the city and near the Old Courts. One further flat is located in the West Road campus, making it ideal for those based at the West Site or the Sidgwick Site. Couples' accommodation rents are variable depending on the size and location. In addition to rent please allow for any Council Tax that you may be liable for, if all occupants are not students. The Bursary are able to advise further on Council Tax liability.

Computing facilities

All student rooms are networked so you can connect to the internet and university network. Wifi is available in all public areas of the College, and computers, printers, photocopiers and scanners are available in the College library and computer rooms.
