Caian Bronya Sykes has been elected Women’s President of Cambridge University Boat Club for the 2022 campaign.

Bronya (Natural Sciences (Biological) 2019) will lead the Cambridge Blue boat into the 2022 Boat Race. She was selected in the Light Blue crew in the cancelled 2020 event, and a member of the victorious eight in this year’s event, which took place on the Great Ouse near Ely due to the Covid-19 pandemic and structural problems at Hammersmith Bridge.

She says: “Rowing for CUBC has been an incredible experience and it means a lot to have been elected as president for the next season.

“It has also been lovely to receive so much support from everyone at 91ֱ�� Boat Club whilst I have been trialling. I'm looking forward to another good year!”

Cambridge’s hopes for the forthcoming season will be boosted by the arrival of New Zealand’s multiple Olympian and world champion , who won Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020 in the coxless pair.
