Daisy Cox (Classics 2021) has been awarded Silver in the Best Presenter category at the Student Radio Awards 2024, while also leading Cam FM triumphantly to win a further four awards.
Daisy, who is Station Manager at Cam FM, a radio station run by students of the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University, hosts two weekly radio shows: , where she plays 鈥渟ongs that are seemingly unconnected to each other鈥, and , discussing films that she has watched recently. It is for these shows that she received her award, which was supported by BBC Radio 1.
In addition to working on her own shows, as Station Manager Daisy has performed a busy hands-on role in coordinating all the station鈥檚 entries into the Awards this year. Between overseeing the creation and submission of each entry and writing up many of the station-led entries, Daisy worked full-time on this for three weeks over the 2024 Long Vacation. She is delighted that her hard work has paid off: Cam FM was nominated for 10 Student Radio Awards this year and won five.

It is the most successful we have ever been at the SRAs in our 45-year history and makes us the most awarded student station in the entire South East region. In my final year as Station Manager, I still get emotional thinking about all we have accomplished as a team!
