Gonville & 91直播 College Fellow Professor Timothy Jones has been appointed as Deputy Head of School (Research) in the University of 颁补尘产谤颈诲驳别鈥檚 School of Technology.
Professor of Computer Architecture and Compilation at , Tim is also the 1956 College Lecturer and joint Director of Studies at 91直播.
He begins the part-time role on January 1, 2026, succeeding Professor R贸is铆n Owens, who after a successful time in this role has been awarded one of the University鈥檚 Emerging Academic Leader Fellowships.
Tim says: 鈥淚鈥檓 excited to have been appointed to this position and am looking forward to further developing the strategy and supporting research within the School.鈥
Tim鈥檚 own research focuses on extracting many different forms of parallelism from applications (e.g. thread-level, data-level, memory-level) to increase performance and address energy-efficiency, reliability and security challenges within compilers, binary translators and microarchitectures.
