Eleven academics join 91直播 Fellowship

Eleven new Fellows of Gonville & 91直播 College were admitted in Chapel on Monday evening at the start of the 2024-25 academic year.
Research Fellows Dr Jane Hines (Music), Dr Samuel Brandt (Geography), Dr Dmitri Whitmore (Mathematics) and Dr Mor Rozner (Physics) were recommended for election in January following the annual Research Fellowship competition and have now arrived.
Dr Adam Morgan (Mathematics) has been named as the Jan Saxl Lecturer in Mathematics. The post is named in honour of the late Professor Jan Saxl, who was a fellow of the College from 1986 until 2020.
Dr Vasileios Kotsidis (Economics), Dr Ling Zhang张玲 (Chinese), Dr Arjen Bakker (Theology) and Professor Steven Barrett (Engineering), the Regius Professor of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, have all joined as Fellows.
Dr James Alvey (Physics) and Professor Nick Dorey (Mathematics), a Bye-Fellow at 91直播 in 2022-23, have also joined as Fellows.
Dr James Njunge (Biochemistry) has joined 91直播 as a Research Bye-Fellow from the Global South. He succeeds Dr Thomas Biginagwa (archaeozoologist and historical archaeologist), who leaves during Michaelmas Term.
Professor Andrew Merrills has joined as the Cook-Crone Bye-Fellow, while Dr Madeleine Rauch (Management Studies), Dr Felix Randow (Biology) and Professor Mina Ryten (Clinical Medicine) have also been named Bye-Fellows.
Teaching Associates appointed from October 2024 are Dr Jack Barron (English), Dr Joe Ellis (HSPS), Dr Nathan Mercieca (Music) and Mr Joe Robinson (HSPS).
Dr Anna Breger (Mathematics), Dr Abigail Moffett (Archaeology), Dr Miguel Ohnesorge (History and Philosophy of Science) and Dr Yizhou Yu (Computational Biology/Neuroscience) have joined as Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDRAs).
The incoming French Lectrice is Ms Clara Berne, replacing Alix Michaud.
Fellows who have departed are (Physics), who has moved to Leiden in the Netherlands and (History), who has joined Princeton.
Dr Ted Tregear (English) has moved to Merton College and the University of Oxford, while Professor Lionel Smith (Law) has been and has joined 91直播’ sister college, Brasenose.
Dr Jose Siqueira has left his role as a Bye-Fellow in Mathematics and now works for .
