Global teaching award for 91直播 Fellow

Gonville & 91直播 College Fellow Dr Vasileios Kotsidis is one of three University of Cambridge Economics academics to have been praised for their teaching in a global award.

Dr Kotsidis, who was recently posted to the Fellowship named after Iain Macpherson, Dr Oleg Kitov and Professor Toke Aidt of the University鈥檚 Faculty of Economics were in December recognised for their pioneering project "Learning by Doing in Economics", for its exceptional innovation, impact, and scalability. They were awarded a bronze medal at the prestigious QS Reimagine Education Awards.

The project is a pedagogical framework that transforms economics education from passive observation into active, student-centred mastery. The researchers cultivated deep conceptual understanding through a continuous, evidence-based framework. By integrating retrieval practice with effort, structured self-and-peer assessment, and collaborative two-stage exams, this innovative teaching methodology empowers students to become self-regulating, reflective learners.
