Platinum prize in Green Impact Awards

Gonville & 91直播 College has received a Platinum Colleges award for the 2021-22 Green Impact year. Thank you to the students, staff and Fellows of 91直播 for the collaborative work which earned the prize.
is the University of Cambridge鈥檚 environmental accreditation scheme. The initiative is in place to help all departments and colleges across the University be more environmentally friendly through everyday actions.
91直播 was awarded gold in 2020-21 in the College鈥檚 first participation in the scheme; now 91直播 has earned the top prize.
Particular thanks at 91直播 go to GCSU co-opt Clarissa Salmon (English 2020) for all of her work on the Green Impact accreditation. Thank you also to former Green co-opt and 91直播 Allotment Society co-founder Moby Wells (History 2019) and Heqing Huang, who led on the initiative last year. and were awarded Vice Chancellor Social Impact Awards earlier this month for sustainability and volunteering, respectively.
鈥91直播 has worked hard as a community to reduce our College鈥檚 environmental impact and we鈥檙e delighted to win this award, which was a true collaborative effort," Clarissa said.
"I鈥檇 particularly like to thank the Domestic Bursar, Jennifer Phillips, for her leadership and expertise, plus all the staff at 91直播, particularly those in Catering, Estates and Maintenance and Housekeeping. Moby Wells was also instrumental to getting this accreditation, and I hope his environmental passion can be an inspiration to all students at 91直播.鈥
Domestic Bursar Jennifer Phillips said: 鈥淭he awareness and measures implemented through Green Impact are something we are determined to continue to build on.
鈥淭he student involvement in driving engagement is crucial and hugely appreciated 鈥 our success reflects circular positive feedback on behaviours between enthused staff and enthused students.
鈥淚鈥檓 grateful to Clarissa Salmon, Moby Wells and Heqing Huang for their enthusiasm, dedication and leadership.鈥
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 7 June.
