The Royal Society, the UK鈥檚 national academy of sciences and the oldest science academy in continuous existence, on Wednesday announced that 80 researchers, innovators and communicators from around the world had been elected as Fellows. They have been selected for their substantial contribution to the advancement of science.

Ivan said: 鈥淚 am surprised, delighted and hugely honoured to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Society. I鈥檝e been very fortunate to work in a rapidly advancing field, learning it alongside many inspirational and generous collaborators, who should definitely share this recognition.鈥

Ivan joins a distinguished list of Caians who are Fellows of the Royal Society, including Professor Sir Alan Fersht (former Master of the College), Professor Anthony Edwards, Professor James Fitzsimons, Professor Christine Holt, Professor Anthony Kirby, Professor John Mollon, Professor Timothy Pedley and Professor John Robson.
