Rainbow Flag to be flown to mark Pride Month

Gonville & 91Ö±²¥ College will fly the Rainbow Flag to mark the start of Pride Month on Wednesday 1 June.
91Ö±²¥ has flown the Rainbow Flag and the Progress Pride Flag in the last six years. The College was recently informed that, thanks to a change in Government regulations in 2021, planning permission is now required to fly the Progress Pride Flag. However, the Rainbow Flag can be flown without consent, subject to certain restrictions. As obtaining planning permission takes a few months the College has submitted an application to fly the Progress Pride Flag in future.

The proposal provides a process for students to have up to six flags flown on separate occasions during the year from the flagpole at Old Courts. It comes into effect from October 2022.
